Many cat owners these days cannot imagine their feline friend out alone in the great outdoors. Indoor cats have taken over homes, but no longer are allowed outside due to risks such as other territorial neighborhood cats, dogs and other innumerable risks.
Indoor cats often live the lives of luxury. But, many owners may notice that their cats spend hours looking out the window, wishing that they could be outside playing and exploring if for only part of the day. Many of these indoor cats have also resorted to a life of laziness and may be at risk of disease from being overweight.
This is where cat harnesses can come in handy. A cat harness can allow an owner to go outside with their cat and feel comfortable about letting them explore the outdoors. A cat harness is much more comfortable than a collar and allows an owner to have more control over their pet in cases of danger or risk.
The cat harnesses work well for walking cats or for leashing a cat outside, while enjoying a morning cup of coffee on the patio. Nylon webbing harnesses and leashes can be made to custom fit a cat easily with only a few pieces of hardware that can adjust for weight loss or weight gain. Many feline owners rave about their cat harnesses and how they have helped their cat to become happier and less sulky. Outdoor time will create confidence and happiness in all cats.

Dogs need exercise daily. Veterinarians recommend dogs to get at least 20 minutes of brisk walking exercise each and every day. If your dog is misbehaving or if you are trying to train your dog to learn new tricks, walking your dog can help relieve excess energy so that they are more responsive to training and discipline.
Your dog may be easy or difficult to walk depending on the amount of training that your dog has and the experience the dog has walking with a leash or harness. A harness is recommended for walking small breed dogs and any size dog that is difficult to control when outdoors. Here are some tips to make a walk more enjoyable for both you and your canine:
Keep hydrated: Be sure to carry water for both you and your dog. Nothing is worse than being dehydrated or having a dehydrated pet when you are more than a mile away from home.
Carry poop bags: You can find bag dispensers that hook directly onto a leash. These are necessary when walking your dog in public areas. Do not scold your dog for relieving himself or herself. This should be expected when walking any pet.
Take small breaks: Remember to stop and sit with your dog. This will allow for rest time. This will also help the dog to become comfortable with the surroundings. If your dog becomes over exciting and stimulated on walks, more breaks are recommended. You should be sure that your dog pays attention to you more than any of the outside distracters. Frequent breaks will help you to keep your dog’s attention.

Professional dog walkers, dog trainers and dog owners who have more than one dog often struggle with finding the best ways to walk multiple dogs at once. Exercising dogs daily is highly recommended by veterinarians for canine health, happiness and better obedience. Here are some tips that will help you to walk more than one dog.
Teach Dogs How to Walk: If a dog is not well behaved on a leash when they are being walked in a single form, they will not be well behaved when walking with other dogs. A dog must be trained to walk on a leash alone, before they can be walked in multiples. One dog that is misbehaving in a group can cause the entire group to misbehave.
Use the Right Type of Collars: First a dog must have the right type of collar for their size. Small dogs walk better in harnesses and harnesses offer the dog more security. Other dogs may need to have a stronger fit collar made with thick nylon webbing. Be sure that all dogs have a well-fit collar before the walk. Check the collars regularly in case of weight gain or loss.
Use the Right Hardware: There are different types of clips and restraints made to connect collars together. These can help you to control a group of dogs. But, there are several styles that are made for different sized dogs or similar sized dogs. Be sure that you have the right kind for the group of dogs that you will be walking.

Dog breeds are created by breeding dogs for specific appearances or personality types. Canines have the largest variation between breeds of any type of animal. There are small dogs such as the Chihuahua and very large dogs such as the St. Bernard. There are gentle and submissive dogs and aggressive dogs.
There are many variations within breeds as well. For example, there are many varieties of poodles known as sub-breeds. There is a standard poodle that is frequently called the full sized poodle as well as the smallest version, know as the teacup poodle. There are variations within size in addition to the standard and the teacup such as the toy poodle.
Many believe that breeding first came about to create specific hunting breeds, while others believe that breeding for personality and companion type dogs came about primarily. Whatever the case, we have a large variety of specific breed types that are very individual in their looks and personalities.
Pet owners often want a specific breed because of the differences in size and demeanor that matches with their lifestyle. Proud owners of a breed often like to discuss their breeds and may even be such fans that they carry tote bags made with nylon webbing featuring dog breed designs on the ribbon material.

If you have not walked your dog regularly, you may need to learn some methods to keep your dog obedient on walks. Your dog’s behavior will not be perfect the first time you leave your home for a walk, but with continued training their behavior will improve.
When dogs are not used to being walked regularly the stimulus including new sights and smells will be very distracting. These tips will help you to keep your canine friend’s attention on you and to keep them safe.

2. Keep your dog’s attention with treats: Carrying treats will help you to keep your dog’s attention when there are other dogs or interesting smells around. Use treats to reward your pet when they are showing positive and calm behaviors.
3. Walk your dog with well-behaved and experienced dogs: Many dogs will respond well by learning how to behave on walks from other dogs.

A dog’s pedigree is essentially a canine family tree of sorts. It resembles a human family tree with a file containing lineage information on both sides of a canine’s family history including mother, father, both sets of grandparents and all four sets of great grandparents.
A printed pedigree file also usually lists valuable information about each family lineage member. This information commonly includes each dog’s date of birth, coloring and markings and names. The most important information for those that show their dogs includes specific details on awards and titles won by the dog’s older family members. Many people are proud of their dog’s lineage and breed and choose to celebrate it with a unique dog breed ribbon collar.
If you are purchasing a dog from a breeder, you should feel confident in asking for pedigree information. This information can give you insight into the dog’s background and any information on direct inbreeding that can cause health risks to the dog.
In addition to ordinary written pedigrees, pictorial pedigrees are becoming more popular. With an image of each relative listed, a dog owner can identify certain physical traits on their puppy or dog that come from their close relatives.

Tow straps are good for towing stalled vehicles short distances. It should be noted that they are not recommended for towing vehicles on highways or for long distances. If you intend tow a vehicle you will need to follow these steps:
1. A proper tow strap will be made out a nylon webbing material and have a hook on each end. You will need to place the hooks on the webbed hole near the axle of each vehicle. Almost every vehicle has these areas for placing hooks.
2. Check the hooks carefully. Make sure that the metal portion of the hook is secure. Also, be sure that the metal does not rest or hit another metal surface. This could cause sparks that can emit flames. This can also cause permanent damage to the surface of the vehicle.
3. When you begin to drive, drive very carefully. You should never exceed 25 miles per hour when towing a vehicle. The vehicle being towed will need a driver as well. The driver of this vehicle will need to try to use the brakes as minimally as possible to reduce wear on the vehicle. Turning and stopping are the most difficult maneuvers to make when using a tow strap. These should be done at very low speeds, while trying to keep the tow strap void of slack.
Using a tow strap can help to save money. It is much less expensive to tow a vehicle a short distance than to purchase a tow truck. But, if the strap is used improperly both vehicles could get damaged. Be sure to follow the steps to tow a car correctly.

We want our children to be both safe and comfortable. What is the proper way to place a car seat and what is the recommended method to adjust a child’s safety belt?
Every car seat type differs. The laws and types of car seats available are constantly updated. If you have a car seat that is over 3 years old, you need to check for any new safety laws that may inhibit your specific car seat. Next, check the manual to learn how to place the car seat. Backwards facing car seats are currently recommended and required by law in many states. Be sure that seat belts used to hold the seat in place are of good quality. Nylon webbing is the preferred material for car seat belts. Also, the seats should never be placed in the front area of the automobile, no matter what style the seat is.
The type of child’s safety belt differs between car seat types and a child’s ages. Infants will be more restrained than older children. Infants will usually need two over the shoulder straps and two over the leg straps that will connect in the chest area. Each strap should be adjusted weekly as a small child grows very quickly. A strap that is not adjusted correctly could cause harm to the child.
An older child can usually tell if a strap is not fitting correctly, but a parent should still check the belts regularly. As a child gets older they may only need a booster seat. These seats are front facing and have a belt similar to a seat belt. These will need to adjust to fit like a regular seat belt.
Always check the manual to be sure that a car seat or booster seat is installed correctly and that the security straps are placed properly on a child’s body. This will ensure that your child is safe when in the car.

There are many reasons to make your own luggage. One large benefit of creating your own suitcase or tote is having the ability to choose the fabric style and pattern that you prefer. You can also select the right size for the trips you tend to take and as many compartments as you would like. It is a project that is on the intermediate scale, so get some assistance if you are not experienced with sewing or placing zippers.
You can find many free patterns from others online. You can also find patterns to purchase at craft and fabric stores. The purchased patterns usually include full-scale size cut outs that can make the project simpler, if you are a sewing newbie. You will need to make sure that you have all the equipment and products before beginning the project. Depending on the type of luggage you will most likely need zippers, canvas strength fabric, nylon webbing and a sewing machine or a serger machine.
If you plan to use your luggage for airplane travel consider a fabric that will stand out in the luggage area. Large, bright prints work well. If you plan on using your luggage for camping, consider a heavy-duty fabric in a color that will not show dirt. Light brown canvas works well. You will need strong nylon webbing material for the straps if you intend to carry heavy materials in the luggage.
Once you have made your own luggage, you may choose to make luggage to gift. Children love their own unique luggage made out of fabric in their favorite color or featuring their favorite cartoon characters. Women also love luggage with many compartments to fit cosmetics and jewelry items.
