Animal Rescue and Shelters

Posted by admin
A few articles ago, the topic was Martingale collars that had been specially-priced for animal shelters and rescues. We failed to mention the leashes and slip leads that are also available in packages put together for shelters and rescues. With animal shelters and rescues experiencing tightening budgets, these packages are ideal for these groups to purchase or for those individuals who would like to donate to these strapped organizations.

The kennel and grooming slip leads are made of polypro or nylon webbing. Nylon webbing is very strong and durable while polypro, although not as strong, is a quality material that it light-weight and economical. The slip leads are made from varying widths and lengths. These leads are useful for holding the dog in place during grooming, for short transfers between pens in a kennel and for shows and confirmation trials. The packages specifically for shelters and rescues come in a variety of colors and quantities and are made from the same material as all other products on our website.

Martingale collars, made of nylon webbing and top quality hardware, are a humane choke collar designed for those breeds of dogs whose head is smaller than the neck, making it easy for that animal to slip out of a regular dog collar. It is also used for those dogs which are more challenging to control when on a leash. The Martingale collar works like a half check collar which is made of webbing and chain. Since it is made of nylon webbing instead of chain, it will not damage a dog’s neck or trachea, and will not tangle in fur.

The packages of Martingale collars and slip leads that are offered especially for animal shelters and rescues are not a discount product made from sub-standard material. It is offered as a price break for those organizations that care for man’s best friend. Some of these organizations are the Humane Society . animalshelter.org., smalldogrescue.org., sosdogs.org., and smalldoghumane.org. If an individual wants to purchase a package of collars or leads for one of these organizations as a donation, it can easily be arranged.

The shelter and rescue packages consist of 10, 50, and 100 Martingale collars. The 10-collar package is priced at $37.95, the 50-collar package is $99.95, and the 100-collar package is $179.00. Colors vary depending on each package. As an added bonus, a free nylon leash will be given with every 10 collars ordered for shelters and rescues. That means, if 50 martingale collars are ordered then 5 free leashes will be included and 10 free leashes with the 100 collar package.

For more information about where you may be able to adopt one of the dogs being cared for at the many animal shelters and rescue organizations, we have included just a few of the many sites that can be found on the internet. There are directories for all rescue organizations at nextdaypets.com, pets4you.com and adoptapet.com. Of course, you can always visit your local animal shelters or humane society for great pets in desperate need of a good home.

Featured Items

This week’s featured products are three of the most requested items. These three items that are highlighted are 1-inch black nylon webbing, 1-inch blue tubular webbing and large red Martingale collars. Each one of these items is a top-quality product that can be the perfect addition to any project. The Martingale collars are even packaged to be ideal for animal shelters or rescues.
One-inch black nylon webbing is one of the most popular webbings. Nylon webbing is strong and durable, making it ideal for projects that need to hold a lot of weight. It is resistant to abrasion, mildew and water. These qualities are important for many of the items using nylon webbing, such as rock climbing rigging, boat rigging, scuba equipment, horse harnesses, dog collars, etc. For more details of projects requiring nylon webbing, go to Do-It-Yourself Network, and Home and Garden TV . Black is the most popular color of nylon webbing but it is available in many other colors for those projects where appearance is important. It also comes in some neon colors that can be seen easily in low light. The most popular width is 1-inch but it is also offered in ½-inch to 2-inch widths. Matching metal or plastic hardware is also available.
A variation of nylon webbing is tubular nylon webbing which is a hollow, nylon tube. This makes it softer and more pliable. It is has a tensile strength of approximately 4,000 lbs. in the 1” width, 7,000 lbs. in the 2” width. One advantage of tubular nylon webbing is that it ties in knots easier and will hold the knot tighter without slipping. Then when ready to untie the knot, it unties easily – no matter how much pressure was put on the knot.
Tubular nylon webbing is abrasion and mildew resistant like flat nylon webbing. Its flexibility and strength make this webbing popular with climbers, skydivers, furniture makers and the military. Tubular nylon webbing is also used in rafting, kayaking and camping, as well as straps on backpacks, harnesses, collars and slings. Since it is a hollow, nylon tube, it can be used as a protective covering for cables, tubes, hoses and cords.
As with nylon webbing, tubular nylon webbing comes in many popular colors, but the most popular color seems to be blue. Varying widths and lengths of tubular nylon webbing are available as well as matching metal or plastic hardware.
The final featured item is the large, red Martingale collars. The Martingale collar is a humane choke collar with a two-loop design that tightens when the dog is trying to remove its head from the collar, but will loosen when the dog stops struggling. Martingale collars were specifically designed for those breeds of dogs whose neck are larger than its head and can easily slip out of a conventional dog collar, such as Greyhounds, Whippets, Italian Greyhounds, Bolzoi, Saluki, etc.
The unique, limited closure of the Martingale collar makes it the safest of the choke collars because it prevents the collar from becoming too tight so it can be left on the animal even when it is unsupervised. American Kennel Club owners and handlers prefer the Martingale collar over metal chain choke collars. This collar will not damage fur and is less likely to tangle in the long hair of some breeds. The Martingale collar will not tighten enough to injure or crush the trachea.
The Martingale collar is made from strong, durable nylon webbing and high quality welded metal hardware. It can be covered with attractive cotton fabric for a designer look. There are also packages specially priced for animal rescues and shelters, such as the Humane Society , and small dog rescues . These collars are also made from the same nylon webbing.
Questions are welcome and can be addressed to the email or telephone number at the top of this website. We welcome your comments.

Get Ready for Summer!

Posted by admin

The weather is getting warm and now is the time when everyone starts checking those “toys” for the summer, such as boats, kayaks, climbing harnesses and backpacking equipment. Also, all animal harnesses, leads and collars must be checked for repair after the winter. For this reason, it becomes a busy time for Country Brook Design. We have all the nylon webbing and hardware that may be needed to keep everything in top condition as well as create new projects that the upcoming summer season inspires.

Nylon webbing is very strong and durable which makes it ideal for equipment that needs to handle a lot of weight. It also must be resistant to abrasion and water. These qualities make it the most important component of many items that can be used in harnesses for climbing, boat rigging, scuba equipment, horse harnesses, dog collars, just to name a few. More projects can be found at Diy Network and HGTV We learned something new when looking on one of those sites – nylon webbing can be used to make a gate for a horse corral and a hay hammock for that corral. The nylon webbing is evidently resistant to chewing too.

Since it is resistant to dampness and water, nylon webbing is also useful in all equipment used on boats, kayaks and in scuba diving. There are many uses and projects described at Scuba Board and Scuba.org, such as bottle harnesses and leads. Boat rigging and strapping for kayaks definitely need the strength, durability and good looks of nylon webbing. We also have all hardware needs for any of these projects mentioned in metal or plastic. As mentioned in a previous blog, we have the most popular hardware in supply and easy to find and match with widths of nylon webbing.

Tubular nylon webbing is used for those projects that require flexibility as well as strength. As the name implies, tubular webbing is a nylon hollow tube which makes it softer and more pliable that flat webbing. It is as strong as flat webbing with a tensile strength of approximately 4,000 lbs. in the 1″ width, The outstanding advantage of tubular nylon webbing is that it ties in knots easier than flat nylon webbing. Tubular webbing will hold the knot tighter without slipping. Then when ready to untie the knot, it unties easily – no matter how much pressure was put on the knot. It is also abrasion resistant and very durable which explains why this product is widely used by climbers, skydivers, furniture makers and the military. It is also used for covering hoses, wire or cords.

Most projects with nylon webbing are in view for everyone to see, so we provide a large variety of colors of nylon webbing in many widths. We even have some neon colors and multi-colored webbing, as well as popular pink, purple, blue and green to name a few. We want our products to be fashionable as well as durable.

With so many choices of color and width, it can be difficult to find the right item. It can be easier if you follow these steps. To find pink one-inch webbing, for example, the first step is to look to the left side of the web page and under the gray title “Webbing & Hardware“, find “Nylon Webbing” and click on it. This will expand to give choices of different widths of the nylon webbing. Since we are looking for one-inch, click on “1-inch” and that will expand to show all the colors available of our one-inch nylon webbing, then click on “pink” to find the products you are looking for.

Summer is almost here and we want to make sure you have everything needed to enjoy all the activities that are packed into the warmer months. When you decide what you need to repair or update a project, just contact us at info@countrybrookdesign.com to order and receive those items quickly and economically. As always, be sure to check our site for clearance and close-out items.

Metal Hardware and finding what you want

Posted by admin

The colorful pictures of our Handmade Designer Dog Collars at the beginning of our blog article last week really created an interest among our customers and visitors to the website. We are expecting a lot of orders especially with July 4th coming soon.

As mentioned before, the collars launched our business, but metal hardware caused us to expand. When purchasing collars, some of our customers expressed the desire to buy some of the metal hardware used in the collars, such as dee rings, o rings, side release buckles, or triglides. We were able to begin supplying some of these items at lower prices. We even received requests from customers outside the United States. As word of our products and prices spread through the internet, we received more requests for snap hooks, trigger snap hooks and swivel snap hooks. Our customers were using these items for a wide variety of projects. To name a few, our metal hardware has been used in everything from rock climbing gear, harnesses for horses, rigging for boats, dog collars and leashes, to purses and clothing. Even a costume for a professional wrestler made out of hundreds of dee rings.

Combined with strong and durable nylon webbing, heavy-duty, welded dee rings, o rings, split rings and triglides are used by rock climbing enthusiasts to make or repair climbing harnesses and rigging ( for more information on this topic go to rockclimbing.org or mtnguide.org). Our nickel plated metal hardware is resistant to rust so it is great for projects that will be used around water or moisture. We received many orders for rings and snap hooks or swivel barrel snap hooks from boat owners who were repairing equipment (go to boating.org).

Trigger barrel snap hooks are great for use with flags and flag poles. They will not accidentally open even in strong winds. Small decorative flags can be safely and attractively fastened with our metal hardware for any holiday or occasion. The website usflags.org has great ideas for projects.

Triangle rings and rectangle rings are also available. We have heavy duty welded rings, but we also have light-weight, non-welded rings available for those projects that do not require a lot of strength. For example, purses and articles of clothing usually do not need the heavy weight rings or hardware.

With the many types and sizes of metal hardware available on our website, it can be difficult to find the specific items that you need. So we have attempted to make it a little easier. The first step is to make sure you know what size hardware you need. If your project is using one inch nylon webbing, your triglide or ring, for example, will need to be a one inch width. This is the measurement of the inside of the triglide so no extra size is needed. Each item specifies the size webbing or strapping needed. The second step is to actually find the item you need. By using the titles and subtitles on the left side of the page when searching for metal hardware, we have reduced the number of pages that must be looked through.

Let’s use dee rings as an example: A customer needs 5/8-inch heavy-weight, welded dee rings. The first step is to go to countrybrookdesign.com and look to the left side of the home page. Under the gray title “Metal Hardware“, find “Dee Rings” and click on it. This will expand to give choices of different sizes of dee rings. Since the customer is looking for 5/8-inch dee rings, click on “5/8-inch” and that will expand to show all dee rings available in that size. All ordering and shipping information is explained with each item, but please call the number at the top of this page if there are any questions or if a certain item cannot be found.

Well, that is probably enough for now. Remember to look through metal hardware category for clearance and free shipping items.

Welcome back to the blog at Country Brook Design

Posted by admin

Welcome back to the blog at Country Brook DesignIt has been a great week! The response to our first entry on our blog has had fantastic results.
Questions in response to the blog have shown us the need to give advice on how to navigate our website.

Since Country Brook Design has so many great items, it can be difficult to find one specific item. We want our customers to be able to locate the products they want quickly and easily. Some of our items, such as webbing and dog collars, have so many choices that it can take some time to find the perfect product. So we are going to try to simplify the search.
Let’s use nylon webbing as an example: A customer wants 1-inch blue nylon webbing. The first step is to go to countrybrookdesign.com and look to the left side of the home page. Under the gray title “Webbing & Hardware”, find “Nylon Webbing” and click on it. This will expand to give choices of different widths of the nylon webbing. Since we are looking for 1-inch, click on “1-inch” and that will expand to show all the colors available of our 1-inch nylon webbing, then click on “blue” to find the products desired.
By using the titles and subtitles on the left side of the page when searching for 1-inch blue nylon webbing, we have reduced the number of pages to look through from 17 pages to 1 page. It will save customers a great deal of time when looking for specific things.
This is also helpful when searching our huge selection of dog collars to find one for certain holidays or for your favorite sports team. Clicking on “Handmade Designer Dog Collars” will expand to subcategories where you will be able to find the perfect collar for your pet quickly.
In the top left corner of our website is a “search” box, which is another way to find certain items. Just type in what you want and it will take you to those items. For example, if a customer wants to look at our closeout items, type in “closeouts” and those 32 items offered at closeout prices will be displayed. In addition to closeout-pricing on many of our items, we also offer free shipping on many of our products. While navigating through countrybrookdesign.com, look for “free shipping” in green under the price of some of our items.

Since developing this blog for our customers, we thought our customers might like to know a little about how countrybrookdesign.com began. We are Jim and Chris Witt of Moulton, Alabama and we started our business in 2003.

We were showing in confirmation and obedience trails of AKC-registered Miniature Pinchers (see akc.org for information about any breed).. Since these dogs are small, we had trouble finding designer collars for their size – most collars were just plain webbing. This is what led us to start making our own designer collars and the business took off to what it is now. As our business grew, we stopped showing confirmation and obedience trails Min-Pins but still have them as pets.
Well, that’s all for now. Another installment will follow soon and will highlight our Martingale collars. Remember, we would love to hear your comments and questions.
